Nag Panchami festival occurs on the auspicious day of Shravana Shukla Panchami that is the fifth day fortnight of Shravana Masam (July/August). Nag Panchami observed on Friday 28th July in 2017. Nag Panchami is also called as Naga Chaturdi, Naga Chaturthi and Naga Panchami. Naga means Snake and the festival is called as Naga Panchami as this festival is all about worship of Snakes on the fifth day of Shravana Masam. Nag Panchami is observed on Shravana Masam. Nag Panchami festival is worshiping snakes is occurring since the olden days and called with various names Nagaraju, Nagadevatha and Naganna.

Procedure On Nag Panchami :

Naga Panchami and Nagula Chavithi is mostly celebrated by Hindus. Nag Panchami is observing pooja to Naga Devatha hence, mainly it is the women's festival. on the auspicious day of the Nag Panchami festival, women wake up early do abhyanga snana. They will make corn from Jonnalu (Jowar, sorghum, cholam). A Sweet is prepared Generally sira (Prepared with Bombay Rava and milk, Kaju, Sugar) and some People will also offer Rice as naivedyam.

Women keep fast and observe Naga Puja. Devotees offer milk, eggs, Jower, naivedya, Flowers, dry fruits, pasupu (Turmeric), Kumkum (Vermilon), Akinthalu (Prepared with the combining of Rice, Turmeric, Kumkum and Ghee) and kankanam (Prepared with thread, turmeric and Flower) to Naga Devata at the Putta (snake pits). After pooja people do Pradakshina's Five or nine or eleven as their wish. After that people will give the Jonnalu and sira with the surrounding people. women's will pour milk into snake pits, turmeric and kumkum after collect some Pit mud and mix it in some milk and after coming to home they will wash the eyes with the milk and tie the kankanam to the hand. After this process women's will broke the fast and take the naivedya as food.

Significance Of Nag Panchami :

Naga Panchami is festival of worshiping snakes. Naga Panchami is celebrated in Lord Shiva temples also. Snakes are believed as Gods since puranas. As we know lord Shiva neck is covered with a snake, Lord Vishnu sleeps (shesha talapam) on snake. Lord Krishna dances on a snake (Kaliya snake) in his childhood. South India worshiping snakes as a part of Lord Shiva pooja. As we see every temple has Nagadevatha idol underneath of the tree. As a popular legend associated with Nag Panchami is Lord Shiva drank the Halahala (poison) to save the universe during the famous incident of samudra manthan between the gods and demons. On the Nag Panchami day Lord Shiva also worshiped. Lord Shiva wears snake as an ornament on the neck.

Guru Purnima is celebrated on Sunday 9th July in 2017. According to Telugu Calender Guru Purnima occurs in Ashadha month Full Moon day Shukla Paksha, Bright lunar fortnight is known as Guru Purnima day. According to English Calender Guru Purnima occurs in July. Guru refers to spiritual guide who enlighten disciples by his knowledge and teachings. Guru Purnima is also celebrated by Buddhists in the honor of Gautama Buddha. Because Gautama Buddha gave His first sermon to Five Monks called the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, on this day at Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh, India. While Hindus celebrate it in the honor of the great sage Vyasa. The word Guru is derived from two words, 'Gu' and 'Ru'. The Sanskrit root "Gu" means darkness or ignorance. "Ru" denotes the remover of that darkness. Guru means one who removes darkness from ones life. Guru Poornima is a time for all sincere spiritual seekers to remember their spiritual purpose and rededicate themselves.

Importance of Guru Purnima:

Guru Purnima is also known as Vyasa Purnima and this day is celebrated as birth aniversary of Veda Vyasa. Legend Vyasa divided the Veda into four namely Rigvedam, Yajurvedam, Samavedam and Atharvavedam. According to Brahmanda Purana Vyasa Maharshi is the guru of all gurus.
Vyasa Puja is held at various temples, where floral offerings and symbolic gifts are given away in his honor and the festivities are usually followed by feast. Guru Purnima is also observed in Jainism as it is marked special veneration to one's Gurus and teachers.

Tholi Ekadasi is the name given to the Ekadashi observed during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) in Ashada Masam (June – July). Tholi Ekadasi is observed on Tuesday, 4th July in 2017. As the other Ekadasi this Tholi Ekadasi is also dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The year is divided into two that is Uttarayana and Dakshinayan. And each half is equal to one complete day for Gods. It means Uttarayana is the day First half of the year and Dakshinayan is night for the Lord Vishnu. This Ekadashi is also known as Deva Shayani Ekadasi or Hari Sayani Ekadashi and the Chatur Mas Vrat (four holy months in Hinduism) begins from the day.

About Ekadasi :

Ekadashi is a sacred day, according to the positions of Moon, two Ekadashi's take place every month in the Hindu calendar. Ekadashi fast is observed on every eleventh lunar day. In one month, two Ekadashi fasts are observed. One Ekadasi fast occurs during the Shukla Paksha (bright half) and second one occurs during the Krishna Paksha (dark half). A fast is to be observed on Ekadashi day by all Hindus. During Ekadashi, a not having water fast is ideal. However those unable to fast completely can take liquids. In accordance with the Hindu religion, the day of Ekadashi is considered to be religiously beneficial. The occasion of Ekadasi is considered to be the most auspicious among various fasts.

Tholi Ekadasi Vrat:

On the auspicious of Tholi Ekadasi devotees will woke up early and finishes their regular activities and observe fast on whole day chanting the Lord Vishnu mantra's like stotram, Astakam, Lord names. In accordance with the Hindu Scriptures, it is extremely essential to avoid the consumption of grains and cereals on the day of Ekadashi. Tholi Ekadasi is of great significance to the farmer's as they begin to sow seeds after the first rains on Tholi Ekadasi day.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2017 Date

Preparation Of Ganesh Chaturthi :

Devotees buy or prepare clay statues of Lord Ganesha, along with 21 types of leaves they are Uttareni, Jiledu, maddi, raavi, ganneru, adavi molla, mamidi (Mango), jagi malle, tulasi, umetta, danimma (pomegranate), garika (grass), devadaru, regu, maredu, vakudu, maruvam, maachi patri, vishnu kranthi, jammi, vavili on the day of Vinayaka Chavithi. As well the regular pooja items as kunkum, turmeric, akshintalu, agarbatti, karpuram, 2 coconuts and a glass for coconut water, banana, betel leaf, vakkalu (shatters). Then Prepares pindi vantalu with rice flour as 21 small ball shape called undrallu, 21 small rounds called kudumulu, and two rats. They prepare payasam with sugar.

Procedure Of Ganesh Chaturthi :

On the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi devotees will wake up early finish their regular activities and should do head bath. Then people clean and decorate their houses if god's room is there clean and decorate for place statue of Lord Ganesha if not place at northeast side. First draw a rangoli  with rice flour place a peeta then put leave on that pour some rice then place the statue of lord ganesh. after that decorate with cotton thread, And place the prasadam in front of the god along with the Vermilon (kumkum), Turmeric (pasupu) and gandam. After placing the Lord Ganesh statue total family members sit in front, should put akunkum on forehead and perform the puja. The place of the worship is specially decorated with flowers. Vinayaka Chavithi pooja is continued upto 3 to 12 days. On the last day of Nimarjanam will be done after the pooja. In Lord Ganesh Temples mostly grass will be offered to the god through out the year because he likes it.

Khairatabad has a major road junction of five roads called the Khairatabad circle, among the busiest in Hyderabad city. The largest Lord Ganesh Idol in the world is installed at the Khairatabad State Library during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival and is immersed at Hussein Sagar lake.

The Ganesh Chaturthi is on Friday 25th August in 2017. Khairatabad Ganesh 2017 idol making is started on Friday evening 9th June 2017. Stick pooja has done by the vedic Pandits. The Khairatabad Ganesh idol completed 60 years by 2014. So, Khairatabad society wanted to decrease the height of Ganesh idol to one inch every year. Due to this reason they are placing 57 Feet Ganesh idol. The height of Khairatabad Ganesh is 57 feet height and 28 feet width. Khairatabad Ganesh in 2017 idol is "Sri Chandi Kumara Anatha Mahaganapathi".

The laddu is about 5500 kg and it is prepared in tapeswaram. Khairatabad society chairman Sudarshan and Ganesh idol is preparing by Rajendran. Khairatabad The middle idol is 57 feet height standing Ganesh with eight hands Right hand upper Dalu, chakram, middle blessings, down Knife. Left hand upper Dalu, Shankam, middle laddu, down gadha. Ganesh idol backside big Kalpavruksam above Merumountain and fourteen headed snake shadowed to Ganesh idol. besides of Ganesh idol right side Chandimata sat on lion throne, Left side Kumaraswamy sat on peacock throne.
